Sitting at home today - it's cold and nasty outside, I'm doing laundry and kitchening about, but most of my time this morning has been spent in front of Tiny Bob (that's what Elise has named my laptop - don't ask. I tried to ask why she thought that was a good name, and even she couldn't remember).
Predictably, I've found a whole passle o' cool shit...
---------------------------------
Every hear people talking about something they saw on YouTube? Ever see references to stuff that everybody else seems to know about, only you don't?
I hate that, which is why I was particularly interested to find this site - the top 100 most iconic internet videos, according to these guys.
However, this is just one website's view. You have to wonder, what would Boing Boing say? I couldn't find a list of videos... well, not one that worked, anyway.

Further proof that some people should be kept on leashes. Also, proof that Benny Hill lives:
...because absolutely EVERYTHING becomes funnier when scored by the Benny Hill theme,
much in the same way the man himself made everything he touched funnier.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thinking of the Benny Hill theme made me think of the scene in V for Vendetta where Stephen Fry is showing his (sadly fatal) television segment where he lampoons the high chancellor to the theme of Benny Hill. A search for this segment was, sadly, fruitless, but I was led ultimate to this:
This is how my mind works. It's a burden sometimes.

It's a few days later now. I just went through my last post, and realized I needed to add a few things:
#1) I am aware that the whole dancing guy video thing has been seen by the whole world. Multiple times. To me, it was fresh and new and lovely. I've gone back to watch it about seven or eight times now. It's still fresh and new and lovely. I hope, and indeed suspect, that it's going to remain so.
However, watching Hulu this morning, I realized that the Google Chrome commercial prominently displays the dancing guy. It was a bit shocking to know what I was looking at for the first time, and that's when I realized that I must be just about the last sentient being on the planet to have seen the video.
Oh well. Story of my life, really.
#2) Related to the above - Matt looks an awful lot like my brother-in-law Jerry. I mean, a WHOLE lot. It's kinda weird. About the biggest reason I know this is NOT my brother-in-law is that, much as I love my brother-in-law and think he's cool, I've never seen him dance. I don't think he can dance. I believe the concept of dancing is foreign to his constitution and if, by some strange miracle, he WERE to spontaneously begin dancing, it would NOT look like that. Ever.
-----------------------------------------------------
One last thought and then I'll sign off. It's time for bed, anyway...
Found this as well - whenever I think there's too much bad shit in the world, I find something like this, which reminds me that there's a lot of good shit too, ya know?
And that's all for me. Have a great weekend, k?
